Lutein Lycopene Carotene Complex Vegetable Capsules is one of Solgar's premium-quality carotenoids.
Lutein is the principal carotenoid pigment found in the macula (the central area of the retina) in the healthy eye. Along with beta-carotene and naturally occurring zeaxanthin, this formulation nutritionally supports healthy vision and provides important antioxidant protection for the eyes.
Lycopene is a carotenoid and phytonutrient found in red fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes, pink grapefruits, watermelons and papayas. It is the compound that is responsible for the red color in these foods. Numerous studies have shown that ingesting lycopene-rich foods can result in positive health benefits. Lycopene is therefore a powerful antioxidant that can help by neutralizing free radicals in the body.
