It took 3 years research by more than 60 Scientists to develop the Green Tea extract contained in the METASYS capsule, which is high in Polyphenols (Catechols and EGCg). This extract is the subject of 4 international scientific publications.
CLINICAL TRIALS
The clinical trials were conducted in France and Switzerland and were published in the Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry and American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. They were designed to assess the efficacy & the tolerability of the content of METASYS capsules in the treatment of overweight patients. These are double blind, placebo controlled cross over studies. They showed a decrease in body weight and abdominal perimeter during the course of the 3-month trial and demonstrated that the product was well tolerated with no side effects.
MODE OF ACTION
These studies show that Metasys has 2 major modes of action:
1. Reduced absorption of selected fats by specific inhibition of digestive Lipases
2. Increased resting metabolic rate and rate of use of calories (thermo-genesis)
The active ingredient of Metasys is a Green Tea extract containing Epigallocatechin gallate. EGCG slows down the breakdown of noradrenaline and thereby increases the resting energy utilization.

From our records, we note that people generally lose between 1 and 3 stones in 3 months depending on the above three factors. Always take Metasys with a meal. Because of the increased metabolism, your sleep quality may suffer if you take Metasys with the late evening meal.
